So far these earphones have impressed me in almost every way. I'm not an audiophile (at all), so take my opinion of the audio with a grain of salt, but I can say that for an average music-listener, these really fit the bill.

Let me start off with this: the bass is not overpowering. These things don't sound like Beats. (Thank God.) In fact, everything is pretty level. Mids and highs come through pretty evenly, the bass is on the punchy end for the most part, and the sound stays pretty isolated when there's a seal between your ear and the silicone. That's enough of this before I start to sound stupid.

As far as aesthetics and design go, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, the materials look and feel extremely premium. The same sort of soft plastic is used everywhere. The plastic looks to be well manufactured, but the rubberiness of the cord and the ends doesn't inspire confidence (that's probably the difference between 4 and 5 stars here). I'll have to wait and see how they hold up though. The carrying case has a similar soft plastic feel to it, and while it looks real pretty with "EARPHONES by JAYS" engraved into the front and "Designed in Sweden" engraved into the back, it would be a real pain to use. I guess it doesn't matter though because due to the linguine-style cord, these earphones are tangle-free when they come out of my pocket.

The silicone covers that came on the ends didn't fit my ears too well. Thankfully, Jays provides a pretty wide range of sizes in the box, and I was able to find a size that fit my ears. I'm sure people of various ear sizes will find their sizes in the box too. Jays also provides a cable clip, but it's not worth anything more than mentioning. The part where the cable meets the end has an angle to it that makes it sit flush against the side of your ear, which is a nice touch.
